VIRUS WARNING A message has been sent to several GulfNet customers that contains an attachment with a virus in it. The message we have identified look something like this; ================================================================ From: administration@gulfnet.com To: your email address Cc: Sent: Wed, 16 Feb 2005 14:26:02 +0100 Subject: Dear user user@gulfnet.com, Your e-mail account was used to send a huge amount of spam messages during the recent week. Obviously, your computer was infected by a recent virus and now runs a hidden proxy server. Please follow the instructions in the attached text file in order to keep your computer safe. Have a nice day, The Perry.Gulfnet.com team Attachment: youremailaddress.zip Attachment: att41.txt ================================================================ Note that the attachment filename and From: addresses could be different They could have askSam.com in the From: address also. You should delete the message and attachment.
Do NOT click on the attachment because that will infect your pc. If you have clicked on the attachment you can go to here http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ to download a cleanup tool for the virus.
